Lake Forest Elementary School is one of the 31 Fulton County schools that provides free breakfast and lunch to all students.
The support for the school district’s food service is from The National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs that are administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
According to Rough Draft Atlanta, meal applications are no longer required thanks to the Community Eligibility Provision. Fulton County Schools which include Lake Forest Elementary, will save money on administrative and printing costs as a result. Families gain from the elimination of the need to complete out and submit meal applications.
The school district stated that all children in households receiving SNAP or TANF subsidies are eligible for free meals at other schools. Also, foster children who are legally under the care of a foster care agency or a court are eligible for free meals. Children who qualify as homeless, runaways, or migrants are also eligible.

Children may be eligible for free or reduced-price meals if their household income is equal to or less than the amounts shown on the Federal Eligibility Income table on the back of the application. Breakfast is reduced to $0.30 and lunch is reduced to $0.40.
