SOURCE– The long wait is over because American retirees will get their first check of Social Security direct payments next month, on September 13. Those retirees who are at least 70 will expected to receive $4,555, in 19 days. The first Social Security direct payments will go to retirees who are born between the first and tenth of their birth month.
Also, the next round of Social Security direct payments goes out exactly a week later for the next ten-day block. The final distribution of Social Security direct payments will be received on September 27 for those retirees born from the 21st through the 31st of their birth month.
The long-term outlook for the future of Social Security is still unclear but the changes to the program will be necessary if the US Congress does not agree to funds for the program before its trust runs out in the next ten years. The possible changes include restructuring the payment processes but those American retirees who are already on Social Security will not be affected by any changes.
