Prigozhin Dared To Challenge The Army Chiefs Of Putin
SOURCE– Two months before Yevgeny Prigozhin was killed in a plane crash North of Moscow on Wednesday, Prigozhin dared to challenge the army chiefs of Putin. Yevgeny Prigozhin’s Wagner private army led out of the shadows and frontlines of Russia’s war in Ukraine before Prigozhin overplayed a risky power struggle with the military establishment.
Yevgeny Prigozhin’s booming voice made him recognizable in Russia as he hurled abuse at Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, accusing them of starving his armies of the supplies they needed to survive on the battlefield. Yevgeny Prigozhin shouted and cursed at two army chiefs. Yevgeny Prigozhin demanded ammunition so his armies could keep fighting as he stood in a field with the corpses of his Wagner armies.
Yevgeny Prigozhin accused the defense chiefs of treason and threatened to withdraw his armies- their ranks bolstered by convicts he had personally recruited from Ukraine, where they had fought the longest and bloodiest battle of the war. Russians wondered why Putin allowed him to rage unchecked. Prigozhin rejected an order for Wagner fighters to sign contracts to place them under the control of the defense ministry.
