According to the Times-Standard, the jury found Alderpoint defendant Jake Combs guilty on August 23 after a week of deliberation for killing Trevor Earley.
According to the report, Jake Combs’ attorney has explained why the jury should find the defendant, Jake Combs’s, actions as self-defense when he fatally shot Trevor Earley in January 2022. However, according to the reports, the victim was unarmed when Jake Combs killed him, so the attorney’s claim was not considered in the deliberation.
Jake Combs was found guilty of first-degree murder and is to serve 25 years of a life sentence in prison. Jake Combs sentencing will be on September 15.

Jake Combs Shot a Man to Save His Puppy
According to Lost Coast Outpost, a report from May 2022, he admitted that he shot Trevor Earley in the head, saying he was only saving his dog.
According to the investigators, the incident happened because the cane dog of Jake Combs bit the face of the victim. Jake Combs told the police the victim was killing the dog with a gun. However, the eyewitnesses said that Earley did not have a gun.
Investigators say Jake Combs shot the victim in the left eye, and the bullet exited below the right ear.
The incident occurred in January 2022, and Jake Combs admitted his crimes in May 2022.
