Another Case of Locally Acquired Malaria Was Found In Maryland
In a recently published article published by ABC News, Health officials reported that a new instance of locally acquired malaria has been discovered, this time in Maryland.
It is the most recent case of locally acquired malaria to appear in the United States; there have been seven cases in Florida and one in Texas.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, these are the first locally acquired malaria cases that have been confirmed in the United States since 2003, when eight cases were recorded in Florida’s Palm Beach County.

According to Head Topics United States, the latest state to disclose a case of locally acquired malaria is Maryland, although specialists say there is no need for fear over the mosquito-borne illness.
Due to the discovery of another locally acquired malaria case, authorities have issued alerts to the public and medical professionals, but an expert has noted that there is little cause for fear among most people and that the risk to the public is still low.
