In connection to the Rock Island fatal shooting that happened early Saturday, Rock Island Police officers have detained a 19-year-old man.
19-year-old Man Shots Fire Resulting to Death of One Victim
At approximately 2:54 in the morning on Saturday, police were dispatched to the 2000 block of 33rd Street after receiving a complaint about Rock Island shooting incident. Upon arriving, they discovered two people who had been shot. One of the victims was a boy who was 19 years old but has not been named. The other person was identified as Glenn J. Evans Jr., who is 19 years old.
Following the incident, both victims were taken to the hospital for immediate medical care. While being transferred, the unnamed person passed away. Evans was given medical attention for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg at the hospital and was released to return home.

Suspect Charged with Murder
Evans has been charged with murder in the second degree, and he is currently being held without bond at the Rock Island County Jail in anticipation of an appearance in court.
