Source– Last January 6 in the morning, a 6-year-old shoots teacher in Virginia classroom using his mother’s handgun. The child’s mother, Deja Taylor believes her handgun was hidden in her purse with the trigger lock installed and put on top of her bedroom drawer. Taylor added that she kept the key under her bedroom mattress. The handgun was legally purchased, but they will still investigate it.

According to the police officers, a 6-year-old said he stole his mother’s handgun last night before the incident. He brought his mother’s gun to his school. While his teacher Abby Zwerner sat at a reading table during class, he intentionally shoot his teacher. The boy said he needed to shoot his teacher Abby Zwerner. The document said the 6-year-old boy had been diagnosed with a defiance disorder. A report from Child Protective Services indicated that the boy had played with a gun at his grandmother’s house.

Deja Taylor pleaded guilty after his son shooted teacher Abby Zwener during class. Investigators said they never found a trigger lock or gun safe during searches. Taylor faces two charges of child neglect and a misdemeanor count of recklessly storing a firearm. Her sentencing hearing is scheduled on October 27, and the boy is now in the care of his grandfather.
