Kentucky man who previously pleaded guilty to killing her 33 weeks pregnant girlfriend over concern she would reveal his involvement with drug trafficking.
Multiple Charges After Killing The Federal Witness
A Kentucky man Daniel Scott Nantz, a 33-year-old, was sentenced to life in prison for murdering his 33 weeks pregnant girlfriend Geri Johnson, a 29-year-old. He was concerned that Geri Johnson would reveal his involvement with drug trafficking. He was engaged in multiple methamphetamine trafficking.
Kentucky man Daniel Scott Nantz was concerned about the cooperation of his pregnant girlfriend with law enforcement. According to the witness said that Daniel Scott Nantz has become more violent towards the victim Geri Johnson. Geri Johnson was trying to find a ride from the residence that morning but when Daniel Scott Nantz arrived he shot Geri Johnson in the shoulder and neck.
Daniel Scott Nantz brought his pregnant girlfriend to the hospital after deleting the footage from his surveillance system that captured where the murder occurred. But Geri Johnson was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital and the medical staff quickly decided to deliver her baby via cesarean section. They named the baby girl Amelia Jo Johnson but after three days she died from brain damage by severe oxygen and blood deprivation due to her mother’s injuries, according to the published article by Averi Kremposky. The Kentucky man pleaded guilty to murdering a federal witness and was sentenced to life in prison with a $250,000 fine.
