The leader of the child sexual abuse ring was murdered by his fellow inmate. The inmate who killed the victim was sentenced on Friday to more than 24 years after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.
Prisoner Allegedly Stabbed Fellow Inmate With a Shank
Alex Albert Castro, a 43-year-old hailing from Fontana, California, was sentenced for pleading guilty to second-degree murder in killing Christian Maire, the mastermind of an international child exploitation ring.
Castro reportedly stabbed Maire with a shank 28 times in the head, back, and neck at Milan federal prison in January 2019. According to the court’s records, two other inmates were accused of kicking and stomping Maire in the head before he was thrown down a flight of metal stairs.

Involvement of Two Other Inmates
The two inmates who were involved in the death of Maire were revealed to be Jason Dale Kechego, 41, and Adam Taylor Wright, 42.
Kachego was to serve 28 years in prison after being convicted of second-degree murder in November. His sentence is running consecutively with a 10-year sentence; he was already doing possession of a stolen firearm. At the same time, Wright pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 24 years and four months in prison for his role in the murder of a fellow inmate.
Judge of U.S. District, Jonathan J.C. Grey, Castro was to serve in prison for 42 years consecutively for his drug crime.
