The official statement issued by the White House stated that it had been confirmed that President Biden does not incline to grant his son a pardon.
White House Statements in Regards to President Biden’s Son’s Felony
During a press briefing on Thursday, Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, firmly declared that President Joe Biden has no intention of showing mercy to his son, Hunter Biden, concerning his recent criminal charges of illegal possession of a firearm and tax fraud.
During the briefing, Jean-Pierre opted to withhold information regarding whether or not the president had reached out to his son in light of the recent plea deal collapse in federal court on Wednesday. She explained that this matter is personal for President Biden’s son and is being investigated independently by the Department of Justice. Moreover, she clarified that she would not disclose any further remarks.

Alleged Criminal Behavior by Hunter Biden
Hunter Biden was scheduled to admit to two counts of tax charges on Wednesday. The prosecution team had agreed to advise the court to impose probation as his sentence. However, before the initial confession could be made, the plea deal began to unravel. During the hearing, a revised agreement was reached, but unfortunately, the judge did not accept it.
In 2018, President Biden’s son was investigated by the Justice Department under Trump for potential illegal activity related to his overseas business dealings, unpaid taxes, and excessive spending during his struggle with addiction. David Weiss, a US Attorney, is leading an investigation appointed by former President Trump and retained by President Biden. The White House denies any involvement or interference with the investigation.
Hunter Biden paid his federal tax bill in full during the investigation. House Republicans are investigating his finance and requesting testimony from Weiss regarding the criminal probe. Some members of the House GOP are calling for the possible impeachment of Attorney General Merrick Garland.
