While leaving Mexico over the Anzalduas International Bridge, Jorge Alberto Sausedo was detained. On Sunday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents apprehended a man in search by the authorities for child sex offenses in Harris County, Texas.
CBP Officers on a Hunt of a Man Wanted
According to the reports released by Fox News, CBP officers came upon Jorge Alberto Sausedo, 33 years old as he was attempting to cross the Anzalduas International Bridge in Mission, Texas. However, upon checking on his identification, he was recognized by the CBP as having an active warrant of arrest for a sex offense.
Sausedo was apprehended by the police after they learned he might be the subject of an arrest warrant. His identity was established during a secondary inspection by biometric verification and an active arrest warrant issued by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
In anticipation of his extradition to Harris County, Sausedo was taken into custody by Mission police and taken to a nearby jail, according to CBP. In Texas, he is accused of sexual abuse of a minor and indecency with a child, both second-degree felonies.
In a statement, Port Director Carlos Rodriguez said that the watchful CBP officers scrutinize every tourist entering the country and are dedicated to bringing people to justice. People wanted in particular for heinous crimes against minors.
