The Biden Administration is encouraging insurers to boost their mental health coverage. In the Biden Administration new rule, the insurers are required to study whether their customers have equal access to medical and mental health benefits to take immediate actions if necessary.
According to the published report from One Green Planet, President Joe Biden said that mental health is very important same as physical health. According to him ‘Mental health care is health care’. To be productive every day, finding joy, and purpose everyone needs to take care of themselves. The Biden Administration new rule demanded insurers to evaluate coverage based on three criteria: plan’s provider network, out-of-network, and lastly the frequency of prior authorization.
The three criteria will allow insurers to identify where they fail to meet the law’s requirements. The administration will give notice to insurers to ensure they comply with mental health parity requirements.
