A woman suffered from chemical burns after a convicted felon dunked her head in a vat of tar-like substance and choked her at gunpoint.
Victim’s Claims Against Suspect
According to the Police, the felon is being investigated after they received a report of a domestic disturbance on July 20. The victim and her acquaintance claimed the incident stemmed from a heated argument.
In a statement from the Levy County Sherrif’s Office, the convicted felon, Marshall Dimick, 57, dunked the victim’s head into a vat of tar-like substance used to treat clam and oyster bags. LEVYSO added that the felon also pointed a gun at the victim and choked her to almost unconsciousness. This resulted in the victim being hospitalized and treated for chemical burns on her face and arms.
The following investigation discovered that Dimick had removed several firearms from his home before officers arrived. The guns were then located on a neighboring property and have been recovered.
“Dimick is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms.” Explained by the sheriff’s office.
Dimick was arrested and brought to the Levy County Detention Center and faced multiple charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a firearm, and four counts of possession by a convicted felon.
