Eugene Demarcus McKeithan has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of his 34-year-old girlfriend. He shot his girlfriend while they were driving near the Marseilles and Minerva intersection.

A Michigan man, Eugene Demarcus McKeithan, has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of his girlfriend Veronica Smart, a 34-year-old. He fatally shot Veronica Smart in the head and dumped her body at the intersection of Marseilles Street and Minerva Street. According to a report, Eugene Demarcus McKeithan was driving his car with Veronica Smart his girlfriend and he allegedly shot and killed her before leaving her body in the street.
According to the published report from Jason Kandel, at around 1:08 a.m. on July 20, the police officers were dispatched to Marseilles and Minerva streets after receiving a report of a shooting. Police officers found her dead and lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the head. According to the police officers, Veronica Smart was pronounced dead on the scene.
The suspect Eugene Demarcus McKeithan, a 31-year-old was charged with first-degree murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and two counts of felony firearms in the death of Veronica Smart, 34. McKeithan was arrested later in the day Thursday after Veronica Smart’s body was found and was being held without bond at the Wayne County Jail.
