Breyanla Cooper will spend the rest of her life in prison for murdering her 19-month-old son and dumping his body in the Chattahoochee River. The victim’s mom pleaded guilty to charges of malice murder, aggravated assault, and concealing a death.
Dead Body Found in Chattahoochee River
Breyanla Cooper, a 29-year-old, the mother of 19-month-old Faheem Cooper pleaded guilty on Thursday for the 2021 murder of her toddler son. The body of Faheem Cooper was floating in the water of the Chattahoochee River.
According to the published report of Hope Dean, the case was started in July 2021 when a Cobb County Fire and Emergency Service Firefighter attended a community event at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area when a firefighter found something floating in the water. He found and get the dead body of Faheem Cooper out of the river. The District Attorney said when Breyanla Cooper heard the report from the media she immediately called the police to identify the body.
The victim’s mom reportedly told the authorities that a man kidnapped her son Faheem Cooper at a hotel because she owed him money, she didn’t report it because she was scared and said she went to a different motel but in the surveillance footage, there was no evidence showed. The authorities checked the GPS data from Breyanla Cooper’s car and it showed that she went to the Chattahoochee River and remained there for almost three hours in the evening three days before Faheem Cooper’s body was found. Authorities arrested and a Cobb County judge sentenced Breyanla Cooper to life in prison.
