The Kentucky State Police investigating after 22-year-old inmate Darius Quarles collapsed on Sunday morning at Daviess County Detention Center. Quarles collapsed all on his own without anyone touching him. However, Quarles died at the hospital on the same day.
Cause of Darius Quarles’s Death
The Daviess County Detention Center on Sunday morning received a report that one of the inmates collapsed. State troopers responded when they heard the report. Darius Quarles is a 22-year-old inmate who collapsed on Sunday morning. According to Trooper Corey King, Darius Quarles is seen collapsing all on his own.
The cause of death of Darius Quarles is not clear. But Jailer Art Maglinger said that Darius Quarles was involved in a fight with other inmates. When the officials found Darius Quarles he was unresponsive. According to Jana Garrett, the medical personnel did attempt life-saving efforts but Darius Quarles died at the hospital at 7:38 a.m. Sunday morning at Owensboro Hospital.
There is no clear cause of the death of an inmate. The official said there was some type of altercation on that day in Daviess County Detention Center. The KSP conducted a death investigation of Darius Quarles. The autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday at Madisonville.
