On Saturday, January 4, 2025, Sealy Police Officers responded to a call in the 200 block of Gebhardt Rd for an aggravated robbery. The victim had arranged to meet a buyer for an item listed for sale online, only to be robbed at gunpoint during the exchange.
Following the incident, the Sealy Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division identified 18-year-old Deshawn Williams as the suspect. At approximately 10:30 a.m. today, Williams was arrested without further incident in the 2100 block of Highway 36 South for the charge of Aggravated Robbery (F1).
The Sealy Police Department urges the public to exercise caution when conducting in-person transactions. The department has designated two marked “Safe Exchange Zone” parking spots in the front lot of the police station, equipped with signage and 24-hour video surveillance, to ensure safer exchanges.
