Houston, TX — The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed five tornadoes touched down during severe storms across southeast Texas on Thursday. The tornadoes, ranging from EF-0 to EF-1, caused structural damage but no reported injuries.
According to the NWS, two EF-1 tornadoes with winds of 90-95 mph were recorded in Harris and Wharton Counties. The tornado in southwest Houston damaged several homes, while the El Campo storm caused structural damage to a barn.
Liberty County experienced two EF-0 tornadoes in the north Liberty and northwest Dayton areas. Winds ranged from 60 to 76 mph, damaging at least one home. A third EF-0 tornado with 60 mph winds struck the Lake Houston area in Harris County.
Officials are continuing surveys to finalize details, including path lengths and widths. Residents are urged to stay informed as further updates may impact recovery efforts.
