Lake Charles, LA – A Tornado Watch remains in effect for parts of Louisiana until 2 a.m. Friday, December 27. Severe thunderstorms could produce tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail.
According to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, the watch was issued at 6:10 p.m. Thursday and extended hours later. It affects central and southwestern Louisiana, including areas such as Lafayette, Lake Charles, and Alexandria. Residents should monitor weather updates and prepare for rapid changes.
Forecasters warn these storms may disrupt travel and cause power outages. Authorities recommend keeping emergency supplies nearby and ensuring mobile devices are charged. Drivers should avoid flooded roads and take shelter immediately if a tornado warning is issued.
