Pendleton, OR – A wind advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday, as gusts up to 50 mph impact travel and safety in Pendleton and the surrounding region. The advisory covers the foothills of the northern Blue Mountains, including I-84, with strong winds posing a risk to high-profile vehicles.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), southwest winds of 25 to 35 mph, with occasional gusts reaching 50 mph, are expected to persist through the morning. Gusty conditions may cause tree limbs to fall and could lead to power outages. Motorists are urged to exercise caution, as unsecured objects may blow into roadways, creating hazards.

Friday will bring more wet weather, with heavy rain likely to develop by midday. Highs will reach 52°F, with winds from the south at 10 to 14 mph. Rain will persist Friday night, with temperatures dipping to 39°F.

Saturday offers a slight reprieve, with a 30% chance of rain and highs near 52°F. However, rain returns Saturday night and will intensify into Sunday, with 100% precipitation expected. Sunday’s high will be 48°F, and winds will remain moderate.

Travelers and residents should remain vigilant through the weekend, as changing conditions could further impact plans. For the latest updates, visit the NWS website or tune into local alerts.
