Florida Drivers Face Patchy Fog and Showers Along I-10 During Post-Christmas Travel

Tallahassee, FL – Travelers in Florida should prepare for patchy fog and isolated showers along major roadways Thursday and Friday. These conditions could impact post-Christmas travel, particularly on I-10 and I-75 corridors.

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, light rain will linger Thursday morning before giving way to cloudy skies. High temperatures are expected to hover near 65 degrees, with cooler conditions in central Georgia. Fog is likely to develop overnight Thursday, reducing visibility for drivers and causing potential delays. Motorists are advised to use caution and keep headlights on low beam in foggy areas.

Looking ahead, Friday will bring partly sunny skies with highs reaching 73 degrees. However, unsettled weather is expected over the weekend, with scattered showers and thunderstorms forecasted Saturday afternoon. Heavier rain and isolated thunderstorms could develop late Saturday night into Sunday, posing a risk for holiday travelers. The chance of precipitation reaches 70% by Sunday afternoon, with temperatures remaining in the low 70s.

Monday offers a reprieve, as patchy fog clears to reveal mostly sunny skies and highs around 73. However, another system may bring rain chances back Tuesday, with temperatures holding steady in the 70s.

Residents and travelers should stay updated with weather alerts and plan accordingly for potential hazards, especially during peak travel times.
