Binghamton, NY – Post-Christmas weather in Binghamton kicks off with freezing fog Thursday morning, followed by a significant weekend warm-up with rain. Travelers and residents should prepare for possible visibility issues early Thursday and anticipate wet conditions by Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, Thursday morning may bring patchy freezing fog until 9 a.m., creating potential travel hazards on major roadways like I-81 and Route 17. Drivers are advised to slow down and allow extra time for morning commutes. Highs will reach 32°F under sunny skies, but evening lows will drop to 16°F.

Friday will bring partly sunny conditions with highs near 38°F, offering a brief reprieve from colder weather. A slight chance of snow after midnight will transition into warmer, rainy conditions by the weekend.

Saturday afternoon begins with highs near 42°F and cloudy skies before light rain chances increase into Saturday night. By Sunday, a 70% chance of rain could create slick roads for post-holiday travelers, with temperatures rising to 48°F. The rainy trend will continue Monday, with highs near 46°F.

The extended forecast suggests a return to more seasonal weather patterns mid-next week. Residents are encouraged to stay updated on weather conditions and use extra caution during foggy or wet travel times.
