Green Bay, WI – Patchy dense fog will impact east-central Wisconsin overnight and into early Thursday, creating slick conditions on roads, bridges, and sidewalks. Freezing rain is also likely by late Wednesday night, posing additional hazards for holiday travelers.

According to the National Weather Service, the fog will linger until mid-morning Thursday, reducing visibility to less than a quarter mile in some areas. Drivers should exercise caution, especially on major roadways like I-41 and Highway 29. Freezing rain chances increase Wednesday night, with roadways becoming icy as temperatures drop near 24°F.

The forecast for Thursday calls for patchy fog in the morning, followed by cloudy skies and highs near 38°F. Rain becomes likely Thursday evening, continuing into Friday, when temperatures rise to an unseasonably warm 43°F. Friday night will remain rainy with areas of fog, leading to a cloudy but mild Saturday, with highs nearing 46°F.

Travelers planning post-Christmas trips should monitor road conditions closely. Use headlights during low-visibility periods, avoid sudden stops, and allow extra time to reach destinations safely.

Looking ahead to the weekend, a chance of rain lingers into Saturday morning before tapering off. Sunday offers a brief reprieve with partly cloudy skies and highs near 43°F. Cooler conditions return Monday, with highs around 30°F and mostly cloudy skies.
