HOUSTON, TX – Houston police are investigating two fatal shootings that occurred over the weekend on Higgins Street, just two blocks apart.
The first shooting was reported at 5329 Higgins Street around 10:40 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 21). Officers responding to a discharge of firearms call discovered a vehicle with its brake lights on in a driveway. Inside the vehicle, they found a man, approximately 30 years old, unresponsive. The vehicle had multiple bullet holes, and the victim had suffered several gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. No suspects or motives have been identified in this case.
The second shooting occurred at 5145 Higgins Street around 2:45 a.m. on Monday (Dec. 23). Officers arrived at the Higgins Legacy apartment complex and found a man unresponsive on the ground near an apartment. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics. The identity of the victim is also pending verification. At this time, there are no known suspects or motives in the case.
