Paducah, KY – Midwesterners are preparing for a soggy Christmas as light rain and drizzle are expected across the region tonight and into Christmas Day. Temperatures will be unseasonably warm, ranging from the upper 40s to upper 50s.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Paducah, drizzle will persist through Christmas night, tapering off by early Wednesday. Rain chances return Thursday evening, with thunderstorms possible through Saturday night. Rainfall totals of one to two inches are forecast, with isolated areas seeing higher amounts.
While storms aren’t expected to reach severe levels yet, the NWS urges residents to monitor updates as conditions evolve. Temperatures following Christmas will remain mild, peaking in the low 60s on Saturday.
Drivers should exercise caution on wet roads, and holiday travelers should stay aware of updated forecasts. The unsettled weather adds to what is already a busy travel period for many.
