Wilmington, NC – Showers and light rain will linger across North Carolina Tuesday, Christmas Eve, but holiday travelers can look forward to sunnier skies by Christmas Day.
According to the National Weather Service, light rain and drizzle will persist through much of Tuesday before clearing overnight. Highs today will reach around 50°F, with lows dipping to the mid-30s tonight. Wednesday, Christmas Day, promises sunny skies and warmer temperatures, with highs near 57°F.
Travelers should still exercise caution on slick roadways, especially along I-40 and US-74, where earlier rainfall could cause patchy wet conditions. A dry and calm weather pattern is expected to persist for the remainder of the week, offering favorable conditions for those celebrating or traveling.
Looking ahead, Thursday and Friday will remain sunny with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s, ideal for post-holiday plans.
