Fort Worth, TX – Texans should prepare for unsettled weather as strong storms and scattered showers are expected Tuesday, Christmas Eve. A cold front moving through the region could bring isolated severe storms, hail, and gusty winds, particularly near the I-35 corridor.
According to the National Weather Service, rain is expected to develop early Tuesday morning, with the strongest storms forming between late morning and early evening. Residents in Central and East Texas are under a low threat of severe weather, but officials advise staying weather-aware.
Tuesday’s high will hover near 68 degrees, with southerly winds intensifying as the front approaches. Drivers are urged to monitor conditions if traveling along I-35 or other major highways, as localized flooding and strong winds could create hazardous conditions.
The storm activity will taper off Tuesday night, leaving Christmas Day mostly sunny with a calm high of 63 degrees. However, rain chances return Thursday, accompanied by another cold front. Forecasters note the possibility of severe storms later in the week but stress that the extent of the threat remains uncertain.
Looking ahead, temperatures will remain mild throughout the week, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s and overnight lows dipping into the 40s. While rain chances are highest Tuesday and Thursday, Friday and Saturday are expected to bring partly sunny skies, making for a more stable weekend.
Residents should keep alerts on, check local forecasts, and ensure travel plans are flexible to avoid disruptions.
