Vermont Winter Storm to Bring Up to 8 Inches by Tuesday Afternoon

Burlington, VT – A winter storm warning remains in effect for Eastern Chittenden, Eastern Franklin, and Lamoille counties, with up to 8 inches of snow expected by Tuesday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, heavy snowfall will continue through the overnight hours, with rates approaching one inch per hour at times. The storm is forecasted to impact the region until 1 p.m. Tuesday, creating hazardous travel conditions, particularly on bridges and overpasses, and affecting the morning commute.

Residents are advised to delay travel if possible. For those who must travel, extreme caution is urged, and a winter survival kit is recommended. Essential items include blankets, water, flashlights, and a shovel to ensure safety in case of an emergency.
