FORT WORTH, TX – North Texans are preparing for a bitterly cold start to the week as Arctic air moves into the region. A wind chill advisory will be in effect from midnight tonight through 10 a.m. Monday, with temperatures expected to drop as low as 4°F. Due to persistent winds, the high temperature of 41°F on Monday will feel near or below freezing throughout the day.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, wind chills tonight will be between 10°F and 20°F, with winds up to 30 mph. Residents are urged to protect outdoor pipes, bring pets indoors and dress in multiple layers to stay warm.

The forecast this week is for a cooler one, with sunny skies through Wednesday but highs struggling to get into the low 40s. Nighttime minimum temperatures will be around 20, increasing concerns about frost and icy areas on the roads. Conditions could worsen Wednesday night as snow showers could hit the area, especially along major routes like Interstate 35. The chance of precipitation increases to 50% by Thursday morning.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be mostly sunny with a high near 41°F, but residents should be prepared for snow accumulations Wednesday night. If traveling mid-week, plan in advance and check updated road conditions.
