Saratoga Library hosts lion dance for Lunar New Year – The Mercury News

Buu Kim Tu Dragon and Lion Dance Association will perform a lion dance on Monday, Jan. 18, at the Saratoga Library.

Part of the Santa Clara County Library District’s Lunar New Year celebration, the event will take place at noon and will feature costumed performers whose dance will imitate the movements of a lion.

Quarry Park cleanup

On Saturday, Jan. 11, the Saratoga Parks and Recreation Commission is inviting volunteers to join commissioners in cleaning up Saratoga’s Quarry Park, located at 22000 Congress Springs Road.

Individuals, families or groups are all welcome at the event, set for 9 a.m.-noon. The commission is asking participants to register in advance to ensure enough supplies are available. Visit https://saratoga.ca.us/CivicAlerts.aspx to register and learn more.

Lunar New Year at Hakone

Saratoga’s Hakone Estate and Gardens has announced the date for its 2025 Lunar New Year event — Sunday, Feb. 23, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a lion dance at noon.
