SACRAMENTO, CA – Drivers in the Sacramento area should prepare for dense fog and wintry conditions Monday morning, especially on Highway 50 and other major roads. Visibility is expected to drop to 0.5 miles in some areas, creating potentially hazardous travel conditions.
According to the National Weather Service, there will be dense fog from 8 to 9 a.m. Monday and then clear skies followed by sunshine with a high of 57 degrees. Morning commuters are advised to use low-beam headlights, reduce speed and keep extra distance between vehicles.
It will be partly cloudy in the evening and the temperature will drop to 41 degrees, making for a pleasant night. Tuesday will be sunny with a high near 60 degrees, although winds up to 25 mph are expected during the afternoon.
Looking ahead, the forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and mild temperatures through Friday, offering a respite from last week’s rainy weather. The maximum temperature will be between 56 to 60 degrees, while the minimum temperature at night will be between 38 to 45 degrees.

Drivers should be especially careful on Highway 50 to ensure a safe start to the week.
