Rain and snow mix this weekend

We’re expecting some more wet weather this weekend across the High Desert.

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10am tomorrow. Snow is expected above 4000 feet. At the pass level, we could see snow accumulations between 5 to 9 inches, 12 along the crest.

Southern and Western Deschutes Counties are in the advisory area, including La Pine, Sunriver, Sisters and Lava Butte. Significant snow accumulation isn’t expected, as the snow will occasionally mix with rain.

Travelers should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility, with the potential for patchy fog in some areas.

The rain and snow will come to end tonight, giving us a brief dry period moving into Sunday. Don’t get too used to the clearing pattern because a rain/snow mix is likely tomorrow. You may encounter some icy roads.

Temperatures will climb into the low to upper 40s on Sunday.

More rain is possible on Monday, but it won’t be much. We should still keep in mind that roads could be wet and slick.

Tuesday is when we’ll finally see a break from the rain. We’re expecting sunny conditions and mild afternoon temperatures.

Enjoy your weekend!
