HUNTSVILLE, AL – North Alabama residents should prepare for high winds and possible severe storms beginning this evening and continuing into Monday. A wind advisory is in effect from 3 pm Sunday to 3 pm Monday, with winds gusting up to 35 mph.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Huntsville, heavy rain and storms are expected tonight. Although the risk of severe storms is low, some areas may experience damaging winds and heavy rainfall. Monday’s forecast includes prolonged periods of rain and wind, with colder temperatures with a slight chance of snow before noon. The maximum temperature will reach only 35 degrees, the cold will be felt even more due to the cold winds. By mid-week, the region is expected to have clear skies and temperatures around 40.
Residents are encouraged to remain aware of the weather by monitoring updates from NWS Huntsville and ensuring there are multiple ways to receive alerts.
