Pittsburgh, PA – A powerful winter storm is set to impact southwestern Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia this weekend, prompting the National Weather Service (NWS) to issue warnings.
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 a.m. Saturday, with an additional 3-6 inches of snowfall expected. Winds can reach gusts of up to 45 mph, creating hazardous travel conditions and the risk of falling branches. According to the NWS, affected areas include Kingwood, Ligonier, Davis and surrounding communities. Motorists are urged to use caution, especially during the Friday evening and Monday morning commute. Officials recommend keeping an emergency kit in vehicles, including a flashlight, food and water.
