The National Weather Service issued a report at 8:50 a.m. on Saturday for lake effect snow until 9:30 a.m. for Northern Lycoming as well as McKean, Potter and Tioga counties.
“At 8:49 a.m., a lake effect snow band was along a line extending from near Bradford to 16 miles southeast of Wellsboro. The lake effect snow band was nearly stationary,” according to the weather service.
The weather service comments, “Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination. Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this lake effect snow band. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads may lead to accidents.”
