Wilmington, OH – A significant winter storm is forecast to bring heavy snow and icy conditions to parts of southeast Indiana, northern Kentucky and southwest Ohio through Sunday morning.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the storm is expected to begin at 10 a.m. Sunday and continue through midnight Monday, with total snow accumulation between 5 and 9 inches. Snow accumulations up to one-tenth of an inch are also possible in some areas. Affected areas include Cincinnati, Dayton, Chillicothe and surrounding areas.
The NWS warned that hazardous travel conditions are expected, especially during the morning and evening commute Monday. The rate of snowfall can reduce visibility and icy roads can increase the risk of accidents. Officials advise people who must travel to carry emergency supplies such as food, water and flashlights.
Road condition updates will be available through ohgo.com and for ohio 511in.org For Indiana. Motorists are encouraged to delay non-essential travel until the storm passes.
