On Saturday at 2:56 p.m. a winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until Sunday at 4 p.m. for Fulton and Montgomery counties.
“Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph may result in blowing and drifting snow,” can be anticipated according to the weather service. “The lake effect band is expected to impact the area this evening into tomorrow before tapering off tomorrow afternoon.”
“Roads will likely become slick and hazardous,” says the weather service. “During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather, visibility, and road conditions.”
