MILWAUKEE, WI – Lake effect snow is expected to dump up to 3 inches of snow in Milwaukee and surrounding areas Sunday night into Monday morning, disrupting the start of the work week.
The heaviest snowfall is expected Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee. The heaviest rainfall is expected in eastern parts of Kenosha, Racine and Milwaukee counties, with some areas possibly receiving more than 2 inches of rainfall by sunrise.
Forecasters warned that the snowfall could lead to poor road conditions and reduced visibility during the Monday morning commute. Residents are advised to plan additional travel time and keep an eye on weather updates during the weekend.
The National Weather Service noted that snowfall totals could vary depending on the strength and location of the lake effect band. While western areas may see less snow, eastern areas near Lake Michigan are most likely to see significant accumulations.
For those traveling or commuting Monday morning, make sure vehicles are winterized and use caution on the roads. Stay informed by following local weather updates.
