Peoton, IL – Police are investigating an early morning robbery at the Peoton Travel Center near I-57, where four suspects made off with a display case of lottery scratch-off tickets. The group fled in a silver or gray Lincoln SUV before officers arrived.
According to the Peyoton Police Department, the incident occurred around 4:20 am on Saturday morning. Surveillance footage captured a suspect wearing a mask and gloves while destroying the ticket display. Police are now working with the Illinois Lottery Commission to locate the stolen tickets and identify the suspects.
Although no one was injured during the theft, officials are urging residents and travelers along the I-57 corridor to remain vigilant. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Peotone Police at 708-258-3003 or email Chief Demik at [email protected].
