AURORA, IL – Aurora police are investigating a shooting on the city’s east side that left one man seriously injured.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 0-49 block of North Anderson Street around 6:52 p.m. Monday. Upon arrival, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Aurora Fire Department paramedics transported the man to a nearby hospital. No additional injuries were reported.
According to the Aurora Police Department, detectives and forensic technicians arrived shortly after to investigate the scene. Authorities are working to determine the circumstances behind the shooting and collect evidence.
The investigation remains active. Police encourage anyone with information to contact their Investigations Division at (630) 256-5500. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000 or www.p3tips.com/135. Crime Stoppers offers a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
