Birmingham, AL – Central Alabama residents should be prepared for a wet and windy Sunday as rain and high winds are expected.
According to the National Weather Service, rain is expected to begin Sunday morning and intensify by afternoon, with a 70% chance of precipitation. Winds will increase to 15-20 mph, with gusts to 30 mph by the evening. Drivers should use caution on major roadways such as I-65 and US-280 as reduced visibility and poor road conditions are expected.
Temperatures will reach a high of 58 degrees on Sunday before dropping to the low 30s overnight. Rain will continue through Sunday night, with a 90% chance of rain and wind.
The weather remains cool and calm for the rest of the week, with highs reaching between 30 and 50 and lows reaching the 20s by the middle of the week. Residents should take advantage of Saturday’s dry start before the rain arrives.
