State PUC shouldn’t
keep rewarding PG&E

Re: “PG&E rate-hike respite on the way” (Page A1, Dec. 31).

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to work for a company that gives employees four to six pay raises per year? That’s what the PUC does for PG&E. PG&E begs, the PUC complies.

Why do they keep rewarding bad behavior? Isn’t it time to stop saying yes each time the giant beast comes asking for more? PG&E needs to balance its books and stick with a budget.

It’s hard enough for most people to make ends meet in this state with the outrageous tax on gas, seriously high sales and real estate taxes, and the ultimate edict that eventually requires all-electric homes when power outages are the norm rather than the exception. Clearly most politicians and policymakers are out of touch with reality.
