The City of Houston, led by Mayor John Whitmire, and Houston Habitat for Humanity are joining Habitat for Humanity organizations worldwide in honoring the immense contributions of President Jimmy Carter to the organization and to Habitat homeowners over nearly four decades.
On Tuesday, January 7, a memorial event will be held where Houston Habitat will raise a wall with a door symbolizing the countless doors of opportunity President Carter helped open through his service to others.
