Humoke, AR – An Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) employee died Thursday morning while performing road repairs in Lonoke County.
Charles “Tony” Glover, 39, of Jacksonville, was working on State Highway 13 south of Hamoka when a 2025 Toyota Sequoia hit him around 10 a.m. Authorities say Glover was driving past a stopped ARDOT dump truck. He was filling potholes when the southbound vehicle failed to stop, fatally hitting him.
According to Arkansas State Police (ASP), Troop A Highway Patrol has begun an investigation into the incident. No further details have been released about the driver of the Sequoia.
State officials expressed condolences to Glover’s family and urged drivers to use caution in work zones. “Safety is paramount. We must remain vigilant to protect the lives of those who maintain our roads,” said an ARDOT spokesperson.
ASP encourages anyone with information to contact them immediately.
