Two Arrested After High-Speed Chase Ends in Montgomery County

Roman Forest Police arrested Amos Barragan, 20, of Houston, and Evan Alvarado-Beltran, 17, of Spring, following a vehicle theft report and high-speed chase on January 1, 2025. Barragan faces charges of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Evading Arrest with a Vehicle, while Alvarado-Beltran was charged with Evading Arrest.

Officers had just entered the stolen vehicle’s information into the system while investigating a theft in the Tavola neighborhood when the vehicle was located in Harris County. A pursuit ensued, crossing into Montgomery County, and ended with the vehicle crashing in Porter. Roman Forest Police apprehended both suspects at the scene.

Investigators are reviewing social media footage from Tavola, recorded the day before the theft, to determine any connections to this case. Authorities noted the suspects’ method involved targeting unlocked vehicles and stealing them if keys were found inside.

The investigation is ongoing.
