Warren, PA – Warren County residents are preparing for significant snowfall as a Lake Effect Snow Warning takes effect Wednesday morning. Heavy snow and strong winds will create hazardous conditions through Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the warning begins at 7 a.m. Wednesday and lasts until 1 p.m. Sunday. Snowfall totals between 4 and 10 inches are expected, accompanied by wind gusts reaching 45 mph. Travel conditions may deteriorate, particularly during the Wednesday commutes.

A brief lull in snowfall may occur Thursday afternoon into Friday morning, but heavy snow will return Friday night. Residents are urged to monitor changing weather and road conditions closely.

The NWS advises keeping an emergency kit with a flashlight, food, and water in vehicles during travel. Visibility and conditions may shift rapidly in localized snow bands, making preparation essential.

Drivers should call 511 for the latest road conditions. Officials recommend avoiding unnecessary travel and staying updated on forecasts as the storm progresses.
