According to the US National Weather Service in Gaylord, patchy drizzle will linger today as highs reach 36–40°F. A mix of rain and snow showers is forecast for Tuesday, with temperatures dropping to the low 30s overnight. Wednesday will bring widespread lake effect snow, with some areas expecting up to an inch of accumulation by the evening.
Travelers should exercise caution, especially during the Wednesday morning and evening commutes. Winds gusting up to 20 mph will reduce visibility, creating dangerous road conditions. Temperatures are expected to plummet to the low teens by Thursday, accompanied by additional snow showers.
For those celebrating New Year’s Eve, dress warmly and plan for icy conditions. Snow showers will intensify late Tuesday into New Year’s Day, with temperatures struggling to reach 25°F. Wind chills will make it feel even colder.
Looking ahead, Friday and Saturday will remain cold with highs in the low 20s. Snow showers will persist, keeping roads slick throughout the region. Residents are urged to monitor weather updates and check road conditions before traveling.
