Fort Worth, TX – North Texans will experience a significant cooldown this week as temperatures dip following near-record highs. Breezy conditions and crisp nights are expected to linger through New Year’s Eve, providing ideal weather for outdoor celebrations.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Monday will bring sunny skies and a high near 79°F, followed by a sharp drop to 44°F overnight. Tuesday and Wednesday will see highs of 59°F and 54°F, respectively, with clear skies and lows in the mid-30s. These cooler temperatures mark a noticeable shift from the unseasonably warm conditions over the weekend.
The five-day outlook includes sunny days with no chance of rain, making travel across major roadways like I-35 and I-20 safer for New Year’s plans. However, drivers are advised to remain cautious, as dense fog in some areas reduced visibility Sunday morning, affecting parts of Dallas-Fort Worth and Central Texas.
Looking ahead, New Year’s Eve in North Texas is forecast to be mostly clear with a low near 40°F, perfect for evening events. New Year’s Day will feature sunny skies and a high of 54°F, followed by seasonable temperatures through Friday.
Residents are encouraged to prepare for cooler evenings by dressing in layers and keeping an eye on local forecasts for updates.
