According to the National Weather Service (NWS), freezing rain is likely through 11 a.m. today, transitioning to rain in the afternoon. Temperatures will rise to a high near 39°F, with mild overnight lows around 37°F. Drivers should remain cautious, particularly on highways like I-89, where icy patches may form early in the day.
Sunday brings a higher chance of rain beginning after 1 p.m. Temperatures will climb further, reaching a high near 43°F. South winds between 15 and 21 mph could cause slippery roads and reduced visibility. Those traveling later in the evening may encounter periods of heavier rainfall through Sunday night.
Looking ahead to New Year’s Day, showers are expected throughout much of Monday, with gusty winds reaching up to 34 mph. Rainfall amounts could total over a quarter of an inch, leading to wet conditions for holiday travelers. Tuesday offers a brief reprieve with partly sunny skies and highs around 43°F before another round of showers arrives Tuesday night.
