Marquette, MI – Rain and patchy fog will dominate Michigan’s weather Saturday, creating reduced visibility and wet conditions along US-41 and other local roads. Drivers are advised to use caution and reduce speed, especially near higher terrain where fog may linger into the afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, rain will taper off from south to north late Saturday, making way for mostly dry weather overnight. High temperatures Saturday will reach the low 40s, with gusty southeast winds up to 20 mph. Tonight, temperatures will dip into the low 30s as skies begin to clear.
Sunday is expected to bring calmer weather with partly sunny skies and a high near 38°F, making it a better day for outdoor plans. Overnight lows Sunday will fall to the upper 20s, with light northwest winds.
Looking ahead, Monday will remain mostly sunny with a high near 37°F, but colder air is set to return as the week progresses. By New Year’s Eve, a chance of snow showers could bring slippery conditions, particularly in areas prone to lake effect snow. Tuesday and Wednesday will see highs in the low 30s, with overnight temperatures dropping into the mid-20s.
Residents should remain prepared for possible snow and icy conditions as 2024 begins. Travelers heading out for the holiday week are encouraged to check updated forecasts and plan for potential winter driving challenges.
